- Prepare for asset construction
- Consult with stakeholders and identify and address requirements and issues impacting construction
- Determine and document work requirements, materials and configurations according to plans, specifications, instructions and workplace procedures
- Conduct worksite inspections according to workplace procedures and risk management guidelines
- Collate and check project documentation and assess for impact on work planning and management
- Identify and investigate potential hazards and safety risks and report recommendations for preventative action according to organisational requirements
- Identify and specify roles and responsibilities of relevant personnel and stakeholders
- Identify and check construction and maintenance guidelines, industry standards and other regulatory requirements
- Plan construction operations
- Implement workplace health and safety (WHS) policy and procedures, including hazard and risk management
- Implement procedures for securing relevant plant and equipment
- Determine personnel requirements according to work plan and contract documentation
- Evaluate, select and source materials to complete work
- Sequence and schedule work to meet workplace requirements and completion timeframes
- Implement quality assurance measures
- Provide guidance to contractors/personnel according to workplace procedures
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with WHS and environmental regulations
- Monitor construction progress and maintain records according to workplace procedures and industry standards
- Communicate changes to meet unforeseen requirements, reallocation of resources and rescheduling to reduce impacts
- Confirm and certify completion of construction and installation according to workplace procedures and industry standards
- Write progress and completion reports and communicate with relevant personnel according to workplace procedures
